Rosalind Barnett

Rosalind Chait Barnett (* 1937 ) is an American social scientist and clinical psychologist . She is a senior scientist at the Women's Studies Center of Brandeis University .

Barnett attended Queens College and received his PhD in clinical psychology from Harvard University . She conducted research at Harvard Business School , Radcliffe College , the Henry A. Murray Research Institute at Harvard University, and Wellesley College .

The National Institute of Mental Health funded her study of family and work-related stress in men, as well as a study of competency patterns in girls in preschool . The National Science Foundation funded a study of middle-aged women and the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation funded Barnett research on work and family issues. Barnett's articles have appeared in a variety of academic journals , including the New York Times Sunday Magazine , Washington Post , Newsday , The Boston Globe , McCall's , The Huffington Post , The Daily Beast, and others.

Career

Barnett was in 1959 at Queens College Bachelor in Psychology and 1962 at Harvard University the M.Sc. in clinical psychology, in 1964 she received her PhD from Harvard.

At Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston , she then was a postdoctoral fellow in mental health until 1966 and visiting professor at the nursing school until 1973 . At the same time, she was a research assistant at Harvard Business School from 1964 to 1972 . From 1972 to 1982 Barnett was a psychotherapist at the Boston Area Associates for Learning Therapies in Newton . From 1973 to 1977 she was a Research Associate at the Radcliffe Institute . From 1977 to 1980, Barnett was a Senior Research Associate and Adjunct Lecturer at the Florence Heller Graduate School at Brandeis University . From 1979 to 1996 she was senior research associate at the Women's Studies Center of Wellesley College . From 1979 to 2001 she worked as a psychology lecturer in the psychiatry department of Harvard University. From 1982 to 1986 she was a Supervising Clinical Associate at the Boston Evening Medical Center. 1994-1995 Fellow at the Public Policy Institute at Radcliffe College . From 1993 to 1995 she was visiting scholar at the Henry A. Murray Research Center at Radcliffe College. From 1995 to 1997 and 1999, Barnett was a consultant for the General Internal Medicine Group at Boston University Medical Center. She conducted research at the Murray Research Center of Radcliffe College from 1995 to 1999 as Senior Scholar in Residence and from 1999 to 2001 as Senior Fellow in Residence. From 1999 to 2008, Barnett was the director of the Community, Families & Work Program at Brandeis University.
