Rosario Gisana (born April 14, 1959 in Modica , Ragusa Province , Italy ) is Bishop of Piazza Armerina .

Life

Rosario Gisana entered the boys' seminary in Noto in 1970 , studied at the Almo Collegio Capranica in Rome from 1980 and received the sacrament of ordination for the diocese of Noto on October 4, 1986 . In 1988 he became head of the youth pastoral council before becoming rector of the Noto Seminary in 1990, which he remained until 2009. After a brief activity in the Roman community of San Gregorio Barbarigo , Gisana returned to Noto in 2010 and became the episcopal vicar for pastoral care.

On February 27, 2014, Pope Francis appointed him Bishop of Piazza Armerina. The Bishop of Noto, Antonio Staglianò , ordained him episcopal on April 5th of the same year ; Co- consecrators were the Archbishop of Monreale , Michele Pennisi , and the Regent Emeritus of the Prefecture of the Papal House , Curia Bishop Paolo De Nicolò .
