Antonio Staglianò (born June 14, 1959 in Isola di Capo Rizzuto , Province of Crotone , Italy ) is an Italian clergyman and Roman Catholic bishop of Noto .

Life

After high school at the State Secondary School in Reggio Calabria in 1977, Antonio Staglianò studied at the seminaries of Saronno and Venegono Inferiore Catholic theology and philosophy and graduated in 1982 at the Theological Faculty of Northern Italy in Milan with the Bachelor in Theology from. Then he entered the Pontifical Lombard Seminary in Rome and graduated from the Pontifical Gregorian University postgraduate studies in fundamental theology , in which he in 1984 the licentiate acquired theology and 1986. For the XI. Ordinary General Assembly of the Synod of Bishops from October 2 to 23, 2005, Pope Benedict XVI appointed him . as Adiutor Secretarii specialis (assistant to the synod secretary ).

On January 22, 2009, Benedict XVI appointed him. to the Bishop of Noto. The episcopal ordination donated the emaritated Cardinal Vicar Camillo Ruini on March 19 of the same year. Co- consecrators were the Archbishop of Crotone-Santa Severina, Domenico Graziani , his predecessor as Bishop of Noto, Mariano Crociata , the Archbishop of Palermo , Paolo Romeo and the Archbishop of Reggio Calabria-Bova , Vittorio Luigi Mondello . The inauguration in the Diocese of Noto took place on March 31, 2009.
