Rose Marie Bravo

Rose Marie Bravo (born January 13, 1951 ) is an American executive who became known as the head of various large fashion companies. She is currently Vice-Chairman of the Board of Directors of the British company Burberry , which she headed from 1997 to 2006.

Bravo was the daughter of an Italian hairdresser with her own salon in New York City and attended the Bronx High School of Science and Fordham University in the Bronx . After completing her cum laude degree in English literature, she gained experience in the fashion business as a buyer for the Abraham and Strauss department store in Long Island in 1971, Macy’s in 1974 and, after its purchase from I. Magnin , until the bankruptcy of Macy’s in 1992. After five Years as the boss at Saks Fifth Avenue , Burberry choseto recruit her as Chief Executive, where she launched a major renewal process.
