Schaumburg has been part of the Lower Saxon town of Rinteln in the Schaumburg district since March 1, 1974 and is located 9 km east of the core area of ​​Rinteln in the Weserbergland Schaumburg-Hameln Nature Park . The community of Schaumburg was only created on January 1, 1929 through the merger of the previously independent communities of Rosenthal and Ostendorf with the Koverden domain.
