Rosi Golan (born May 9, 1981 in Netanya , Israel ) is an American singer-songwriter of Israeli descent.

Life

Golan lived in Netanya for the first five months of her life . She lived with her parents in Europe until she was six, before moving back to Netanya with her mother and to Los Angeles two years later . In 2001 Rosi Golan bought her first guitar. Shortly afterwards she began to write her first songs. In 2008 her debut album The Drifter and the Gypsy was released . Of these, the title Been a Long Day in the television series One Tree Hill , the title Lullaby in the television series Private Practice , the title Come Around in the television series Ghost Whisperer and the title Think of Me 2010 in the movie The Shine of the To hear silence . The best-known track from the album, Shine , was featured in a Pantene commercial and was covered by French singer Anggun . The song Follow the Arrow was used in a JC Penney commercial . In August 2011, Golan's second album Lead Balloon was released in the United States. The album was released digitally in Germany.

Golan also writes for other artists. The composition Bee 2010, written together with Mayaeni Strauss and the Norwegian musician Per Kristian Ottestad , was interpreted by Lena Meyer-Landrut and Jennifer Braun in the German preliminary decision for the Eurovision Song Contest 2010 , Our Star for Oslo . In the preliminary round of our song for Germany in 2011, Meyer-Landrut sang the song I Like You , which Golan had written via the Internet together with the Irish musician Johnny McDaid . In 2012, in collaboration with Tim Myers , she wrote the song Stardust , the title track of Meyer-Landrut's third studio album of the same name. In the summer of 2014 she wrote the title Keep on Living with Meyer-Landrut and Tim Myers , which is on the Lena album Crystal Sky , which was released in 2015 . In 2007 the British band Ben's Brother recorded Golan's song Let Me Out , which can be heard in the television series Grey's Anatomy .

Golan had some joint appearances with singer-songwriter William Fitzsimmons . In January 2012 she was on stage with the British band Snow Patrol . In March 2012 her song Can't go back and in May 2015 her song Between The Night Between The Day was used in the television series Vampire Diaries .

In addition to her solo albums, Golan forms the side project The Open Sea with the singer-songwriter Ari Hest .
