Ross Davenport (born May 23, 1984 in Belper , Derbyshire ) is an English swimmer .

Davenport's favorite distances are the freestyle courses. Davenport competed for England at the 2006 Commonwealth Games . He won the gold medal in the 200 m freestyle. He also finished second with the 4 × 200 m freestyle relay. In 2008, at the World Short Course Championships in Manchester , he won the silver medal with the British 4 × 200 m freestyle relay and a new European record. He was able to qualify for the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing over the 200 m freestyle and for the 4 × 200 m freestyle relay. There he reached 10th place over 200 m freestyle as well as 8th place with the 4 × 100 m freestyle relay and 6th place with the 4 × 200 m freestyle relay.

With the 4 × 100 m freestyle relay, Davenport won the silver medal at the 2010 Commonwealth Games in New Delhi .

He is currently studying at Loughborough University . His brother Ashley Davenport is also a swimmer.
