Zwerchstraß is a village and district of the municipality Wolferstadt in the district of Donau-Ries in the administrative district of Swabia in Bavaria .

The district also includes the hamlet of Rothenberg and the wasteland of the Brenneisenmühle .

Zwerchstrasse and Rothenberg belong to the border towns of the Alemannic dialect area to East Franconian .

In the area around Rothenberg there are several dominant elevations : the Hirschbuck with 621.1 m, the Vorachbuck in the direction of Döckingen with 608.8 m and the Uhlberg in the direction of Möhren with 604.7 m.

Zwerchstraß with its local branding iron mill, Rothenberg and Siebeneich courtyards was an independent municipality in the district of Donauwörth and was in the course of administrative reform in Bavaria the 1 July 1972 the district of Donau-Ries , until May 1, 1973 with the name of the district Nördlingen-Donauwörth , slammed . On January 1, 1974, it was incorporated into the community of Wolferstadt. The hamlet Siebeneichhöfe came to the city of Treuchtlingen on January 1, 1985 .
