Rothenförde is a district of the city of Staßfurt in the Salzlandkreis in Saxony-Anhalt .
history
Today's Rothenförde came into being after the Second World War. The various settlements or farmsteads are a result of the land reform carried out in 1946 and the compulsion to give resettlers, displaced persons and refugees a new livelihood. For generations before this Rothenförde was a Vorwerk, thus a kind of branch of the domain Athensleben . The abundant barns there were divided in this very phase and given to the so-called new settlers, including arable land, for use. This explains the current character of this settlement, which can still be seen in the arrangement of the building, the remains of the formerly completely closed enclosure by a lime stone wall and the old access road to the no longer existing water mill and on to the Rothenförde weir . These buildings were renewed over time and permanent water, electricity and gas lines were laid in the place. Today there are eight buildings and several small stable buildings in Rothenförde.
Around 1220 Rothenförde had its own church and a village mayor . In the Thirty Years' War the church was destroyed and there was no village mayor afterwards. In 1885 the old Rothenförde mill, which was used as the seat of the Löderburg volunteer fire department, burned down. In 1889 the Rothenförde weir was modernized and the mill was rebuilt. The weir was used for soil regulation in order to supply the mill with a sufficient amount of water. In the 1970s, the mighty structure of the Rothenförder Mühle was almost razed to the ground within a few years due to vandalism and theft of building materials. The remains were then blown up and leveled to be on the safe side. Only those familiar with the area can still guess where this mill once stood.
In 2014/15, the originally listed Rothenförde weir to the west of Rothenförde in the Bode was demolished and replaced by a new building. The inauguration of the new weir took place on November 9, 2015.
politics
Until it was incorporated on March 1, 2003, Rothenförde was part of the former municipality of Löderburg , and since then Rothenförde has been part of the city of Staßfurt . The Löderburg local council is also responsible for Rothenförde.
coat of arms
The coat of arms is identical to that of Löderburg , due to the earlier community membership .
