The Margraben begins at Karolinensee in Üllnitz and then flows through Förderstedt and Lust and flows into the Bode. A little downstream, the district road 1302 crosses the Bode, it then crosses Lust and provides connections to the state road 71 just a few hundred meters east of the town center and in Atzendorf to the state roads 70 and 50 . In Lust, the district road 1303 coming from Löderburg ends at the K 1302.

To Lust lie the places Rothenförde in the north, Atzendorf in the northeast, Förderstedt in the east, Neu Staßfurt in the southeast, Löderburg in the south and Athensleben in the west. history

The history of the place Lust is strongly connected with the restaurant that was located in the place . The Einkehr, known today under the name “Lustkrug”, was a customs and horse exchange station around 1400. The place name Lust is probably derived from the Lustigen, which probably took place in the Lustkrug. When the Benäcke family moved to Athensleben, they built stables for animals there so that they did not have to walk a long way from the manors and farms. After that, apartments and houses were built for servants. This is how the Lust settlement was created around the inn, which belonged to the then independent municipality of Athensleben. From the Weimar period until the post-war period from 1920 to 1950, the Lustkrug was a popular excursion destination. It was demolished in 1960 and rebuilt a few years later. Today there is no more inn, the "Lustkrug" is used as a residential building.

After the end of the Second World War, the place itself became part of the Soviet occupation zone and later the GDR . From July 1, 1950, Athensleben was part of Löderburg with pleasure. In the territorial reform carried out in 1952 , Lust was added to the newly formed Staßfurt district in the Magdeburg district. In the years that followed, agriculture was collectivized . After the reunification and reunification , Lust became part of the re-established state of Saxony-Anhalt and came to the Aschersleben-Staßfurt district in 1994 and to the Salzland district in 2007. Since March 1, 2003, Lust has been part of the city of Staßfurt together with Löderburg .

Lust is co-administered by Athensleben and represented by the local council.

coat of arms

The coat of arms is identical to that of Löderburg , due to the earlier community membership .
