The Royal Romance is a 92 meter long mega yacht . It was designed by the studio De Voogt and built by the Dutch shipyard Feadship . When it was completed in 2014, the ship was considered the “most modern yacht in the world”. Its purchase price was 214 million euros. The Royal Romance can accommodate 14 passengers and 22 crew members. It was handed over to its first owner, the Ukrainian oligarch and Putin's confidante Viktor Medvedchuk , in July 2015 . In contrast to various other mega yachts, the Royal Romance cannot be chartered .

Furnishing

The yacht is 92.50 meters long and 14.30 meters wide. The draft of the Royal Romance is 3.85 meters. Its load-bearing hull is made of steel , while aluminum was used for the other superstructures .

The decks are laid out with teak . The London company Seymour Diamond was responsible for the interior design . In addition to the luxury interior, the five-story ship has an elevator, a fresh water tank with a capacity of 55,200 liters and a 4 × 12 meter swimming pool on the aft deck , which is covered when not in use. The total construction time for the ship was four years. The yacht is in Lloyd's Register classified and flying the flag of the Cayman Islands .

Motorization

It is powered by two MTU diesel engines with a total output of 6008 hp (4419 kW). The Royal Romance thus reaches a top speed of 17 knots (31 km / h), the cruising speed is 12.9 knots (24 km / h).

Trivia

The Royal Romance anchors regularly unused for long periods in the port of Monaco and is usually the largest ship among the mega-yachts of the super-rich.
