Rudi Fleck

Rudi Fleck (born December 24, 1930 in Greifswald ; † November 11, 2012 in Rostock ) was a German politician ( SED ). He was Lord Mayor of Rostock and Chairman of the Council of the Schwerin District .

Life

Fleck, the son of a railroad worker, attended elementary school and completed an apprenticeship as an administrative clerk in the municipality of Kröslin ( Wolgast district ). In 1946 he joined the FDJ and in 1951 the SED. From 1950 to 1952 he was mayor of Kröslin. Fleck was the youngest mayor in the GDR. In 1952 he became head of department at the Greifswald District Council . In 1952/53 he was a planner at the Peenemünde power station . From 1953 to 1955 he acted as head of the state organs department of the SED district leadership in Wolgast. In 1955/56 Fleck studied at the Rostock district party school, then in 1956/57 he was secretary of the SED district leadership MTS area Stolpe , 1957/58 secretary of the council of the Wolgast district and from 1958 to 1960 head of the organizational instructor department at the council Rostock district. 1960/61 Fleck took part in the special course of the Central Committee of the SED for the training of leading state officials at the German Academy for Political Science and Law in Potsdam-Babelsberg . He completed the course with a degree in political science.

From 1961 to 1968 Fleck officiated as Lord Mayor of Rostock, then from May 6, 1968 to December 10, 1989 he was Chairman of the Council of the Schwerin District. From 1968 to 1989 he was a member of the Schwerin District Parliament and from 1967 to 1990 he was the successor to the People's Chamber .
