Rudolf Albert Becker-Heyer , also Albert Becker-Heyer or Rudolph Becker (born June 9, 1862 in Kaiserswerth , † 1928 in Berlin-Charlottenburg ), was a German genre , horse , battle and military painter as well as illustrator and etcher .

Life

Becker-Heyer studied in Düsseldorf (until 1884), Munich and Berlin (until 1896). He attended the Düsseldorf Art Academy from 1880 to 1883/1884 after taking private lessons from 1877. Andreas Müller , Heinrich Lauenstein and Peter Janssen the Elder were his teachers at the Düsseldorf Academy . Becker-Heyer settled in Charlottenburg , where he was known for his equestrian scenes and horse portraits, and was a teacher at the Charlottenburg School of Applied Arts . Heinz Buchholz and Erich Godal were among his students there.
