Rudolf Dammert

Karl Rudolf Dammert (born on August 5, 1879 in Bruchsal ; died on November 9, 1946 in Hinterzarten near Freiburg im Breisgau ) was a German publisher , journalist , playwright and author of historical novels .

Life

Dammert's father was the main teacher Sebastian Dammert, the mother Luise, geb. Help. He initially studied in Freiburg and Berlin . After completing his doctorate with a study on Franz Callenbach , he worked from 1904 to 1906 as an editor for the Wormser Volkszeitung , then for the Berliner Lokal-Anzeiger and then for the Münchner Allgemeine Zeitung . From 1908 to 1909 he was the publisher of the Allgemeine Zeitung and then until 1910 editor-in-chief of the Württemberger Zeitung in Stuttgart . In 1910 Dammert moved to Berlin, where he subsequently opened an editorial office for the German press, a correspondence publisher and, in 1912, the German Telegraph Dr. Rudolph Dammert GmbH , which was merged in 1913 with Louis Hirsch's Telegraphisches Büro and other news agencies to form the Telegraphen-Union . Dammert did military service in the First World War, most recently as press officer in Romania. After the end of the war he founded several book and magazine publishers, advertising agencies and the press publisher Dr. Rudolf Dammert , the largest press service of its time. In the 1930s, business expanded beyond Germany, and Dammert also expanded his company to include a travel agency.

In addition to his entrepreneurial activities, Dammert wrote feature articles, economic policy studies and several dramas.

Dammert was married to Helene, b. Rheinfeld. There were two children from the marriage.
