Rudolf Fastenrath
Rudolf Fastenrath (born March 12, 1856 in Halver , Westphalia , † December 4, 1925 in Lamone ), from 1905 an honorary citizen of Magliaso , was a German naturopath and writer .
Life
Rudolf Fastenrath was a son of Wilhelm Fastenrath, a yellow caster, and Karoline Bürger. In 1872, Fastenrath opened a practice for sexually transmitted diseases in Herisau without studying medicine , which caused a scandal . After a temporary professional ban , he ran a lucrative homeopathic private clinic from 1874 . From around 1878 this was a mail order business with homeopathic remedies and coffee was affiliated. In 1905 he moved to Magliaso, later to Bedigliora and then to Lamone.
Fastenrath was an avid tourism promoter : from 1891 to 1893 he initiated mountain railway projects on the Gäbris and the Säntis . From 1902 to 1907 he owned the Gontenbad bath and spa facility . In 1903 and 1904 he built a sound hall for 600 people with an attached spa hotel in Herisau. He founded tourism in Malcantone by setting up the Magliaso Tourist Office . Fastenrath wrote folk theater pieces and home song cycles. From 1874 to 1879 he published the monthly magazine Schweizerische Dichterhalle . In 1917 he published the highly autobiographical colored Roman retirement .
