Rudolf Henrici

Rudolf Henrici (born June 27, 1892 in Soest , † August 1, 1971 in Wiesbaden ) was a German officer , most recently major general , in World War II . The general of the tank force Sigfrid Henrici was his older brother.

Life

Henrici joined the 1st Kurhessische Feldartillerie-Regiment No. 11 in Kassel on March 11, 1912 as a flag junior . From October 19, 1912 to July 12, 1913 he was assigned to the Danzig War School and on August 18, 1913 he was promoted to lieutenant .

With the outbreak of the First World War , he came to the front with his regiment and was transferred to the 5th battery on March 20, 1915. From May 10, 1915 Henrici acted as adjutant and court officer of the II. Department. After he had become first lieutenant on October 5, 1916 , Henrici was initially appointed as deputy leader of the 5th battery. He then took over the 8th and on March 4, 1917 the 5th battery.

After the end of the war, he was accepted into the Reichswehr and became a captain on February 1, 1924 . Promoted to major on October 1, 1933 , Henrici was from the time when Artillery Regiment 25 was set up on October 15, 1935 to December 31, 1937, in the rank of lieutenant colonel, in command of the 1st division of this regiment. Then he was transferred to Königsberg to the staff of the commandant's office for the fortifications.

During the Second World War he served mostly as an artillery commander in various army corps . Promoted to major general on August 1, 1942, he served as artillery commander 128 from November 30, 1942 to January 25, 1943. Subsequently, transferred to the Führer Reserve , he was artillery commander 126 from March 19, 1943. He was appointed as a superior Artillery commander 302 from August 12, 1944 to January 7, 1945 with the conduct of business. Henrici was then artillery commander 168 for a short time and artillery commander 145 from January 10, 1945. With the unconditional surrender of the Wehrmacht , Henrici fell into Yugoslav captivity on May 9, 1945 , from which he was only released on March 24, 1953.
