Rudolf Mosis (born January 16, 1933 in Mannheim ) is a German theologian and Old Testament scholar .

Life

After graduating from high school in Konstanz , he studied Catholic theology at the Albert Ludwig University of Freiburg from 1952 . On the initiative of the Archbishop of Freiburg, Wendelin Rauch , he studied philosophy and theology at the Pontifical Gregorian University and the Pontificium Collegium Germanicum et Hungaricum de Urbe in Rome from 1953 . There he was ordained a priest in 1958 . In 1961 he was at the Gregorian in Mauritius Flick and Friedrich Wulf with the dissertation The People and possessions by John of the Cross doctorate . He was then in pastoral care as a chaplain in his home diocese in Herbolzheim i. Br. In 1986 he switched to the chair for the Old Testament at Johannes Gutenberg University in Mainz . From 1991 to 1992 he was Dean of the Department of Catholic Theology. In 1998 he retired .
