Rudolf Schädler (born February 20, 1845 in Vaduz , Liechtenstein ; † January 26, 1930 there ) was a Liechtenstein doctor and politician .

biography

Born as the son of the doctor and politician Karl Schädler , Rudolf Schädler studied medicine in Freiburg im Breisgau and Vienna after attending grammar schools in Feldkirch , Einsiedeln and Neuburg . During his studies in 1864 he became a member of the Freiburg fraternity of Teutonia . In 1869 he was promoted to Dr. med. did his doctorate and then worked as a general practitioner in Vaduz, where he took over his father's practice. From 1872 to 1877 he was a member of the state parliament , of which he was president in 1877. From 1873 to 1877 he was editor and publisher of the Liechtenstein weekly newspaper . In 1885 he was involved in the founding of the Liechtenstein Agricultural Association and was its president until 1920. In 1895 he and his brothers organized the 2nd Liechtenstein National Exhibition. He was also a member of the state school board . In 1895 he bought the Kurhaus Gaflei and became one of the pioneers of Liechtenstein tourism. In 1920 he became a member of the supervisory board of the newly founded Bank von Liechtenstein.

His brothers were Albert Schädler and Carl Schädler , his son Rudolf Schädler . His daughter Maria was married to Egon Rheinberger .
