Alexander Frick

Alexander Frick (born February 18, 1910 in Schaan , Principality of Liechtenstein ; † October 31, 1991 ibid) was a Liechtenstein politician. He held the office of head of government from September 3, 1945 to July 16, 1962. He was a member of the Progressive Citizens' Party in Liechtenstein .

Life

After attending the teachers' seminar in Rickenbach, Frick became a tax officer at the Liechtenstein tax office from 1929 to 1936, of which he became head in 1936. He held this position until his election as head of government. From 1962 to 1969 he was President of the Liechtenstein Power Plants . From 1966 to 1970 he was President of the State Parliament and from 1970 to 1974 Vice-President of the State Parliament.

He was also the founder of the Boy Scouts in 1931. From 1935 to 1937 he was chairman of the Liechtenstein National Olympic Committee. Since 1935 he was a member of the Historical Association for the Principality of Liechtenstein. His milestones as head of government were the introduction of old-age and survivors' insurance in 1952, the family equalization fund in 1957, home ownership in 1958 and, one year later, disability insurance. Since 1960 he was an honorary member of the Liechtenstein Alpine Club. For the yearbook of the historical association he wrote numerous folkloristic and eponymous articles.
