The 13 previous heads of government were all representatives of the two people's parties, the Progressive Citizens' Party (8 people) and the Patriotic Union (5 people). In percentage terms, the heads of government of the Progressive Civic Party ruled 63% of the time and those of the Patriotic Union ruled 37%. Seven officials come from the Oberland constituency and six officials from the Unterland constituency . Heads of government from the Oberland ruled 58% of the time, while those from the Unterland were 42% in power. All heads of government were male and were in their first marriage to a woman when they took office (the only exception was Markus Büchel , who only married a woman after taking office ). To date, there has been no female candidate for the post of head of government in Liechtenstein. The shortest term of office was less than 7 months (Markus Büchel) and the longest term of office was over 17 years ( Josef Hoop ). With three heads of government, the municipality of Balzers submitted the highest number of candidates, while the municipalities of Mauren , Planken and Triesen have never had a suitable official. With 10,566 days of reign, resp. almost 29 years old, the representatives of the municipality of Balzers are also in first place in this ranking on the all-time list (2nd place = Eschen with 9'041 days / 3rd place = Schaan with 6'160 days).
