Rudolf Trenz

Rudolf Trenz (born June 10, 1882 in Spiesen , † January 6, 1966 in Völklingen ) was a Saarland politician of the Center Party and later of the CVP .

Trenz, the son of a Steigers , attended the mining advanced training school after primary school, the mining school in Neunkirchen and finally the main mining school in Saarbrücken and received practical training in the mines in Heinitz and Luisenthal in order to learn his father's profession. From 1904 on, he worked as a climber and driver at the Luisenthal mine . In 1925 he switched to the profession of independent technical businessman and was active as a designer of gas heating systems. He practiced this profession until 1935, when Trenz was also the first district deputy of the then Saarbrücken-Land district . In 1940 he became rendant of the parish of St. Eligius in Völklingen . In 1946 he was elected both to the council of the newly established parish of Völklingen-Fürstenhausen and to the state parliament of Saarland . The latter belonged to Trenz, who meanwhile became district chairman of the CVP, from 1947 to 1955. He was secretary for many years and from late October 1950 to April 1951 also chairman of the CVP parliamentary group. From 1949 to 1956 he also served as honorary mayor of Völklingen.
