Rudolph Johns

Rudolph Johns (born October 3, 1823 in Hamburg ; † July 16, 1889 in Letmathe ) was a Hamburg lawyer and politician.

Johns studied law and successfully completed his doctorate in Heidelberg in 1847 . On October 11, 1847 Johns was in Hamburg as a lawyer admitted he was enrolled as such until the 1866th He worked at the district court from 1855 to 1858 . Johns entered the civil service and in 1866 became actuary of the guardianship depuation, in 1869 he moved to the lower court and became a judge there. In 1871 he resigned from all offices and after a few years moved his residence to Westphalia . Johns was involved in local self-government, he worked from 1848 to 1851 as a poor carer and he was a member of the poor college from 1856 to 1863. From 1849 to 1861 he was administrator or director of the Hamburger Sparcasse from 1827 , in 1862 he moved to the administrative board, of which Johns was chairman from 1874 to 1876.

From 1861 to 1863 Johns was a member of the Hamburg parliament .

In 1855, Johns served as captain of the 8th Company of the 1st Battalion of the Civil Military .

family

Johns was a son of the successful tea broker and merchant Christian Jacob Johns (1781–1861). Eduard Johns and Adolph Johns were his older brothers. He married Sophie Overweg (1833–1914) on May 29, 1853, a daughter of Carl Overweg . Rudolf Johns was his grandson.
