history
The place was first mentioned in a document around 1305 in the Liber fundationis episcopatus Vratislaviensis (tenth register of the diocese of Breslau ) as "Item in Ruptava debent esse triginta mansi". In the course of the establishment, a Roman Catholic parish was also established.
During the period of Polish particularism , the village belonged to the Duchy of Opole-Ratibor . Together with this it fell in 1327 as a fiefdom to the Crown of Bohemia , which the Habsburgs had held since 1526 . From 1437 it belonged to the Duchy of Rybnik, which was separated from it, and from 1464 to the Duchy of Loslau . After the First Silesian War and the preliminary peace of Breslau (1742) it belonged to the Kingdom of Prussia .
The Protestant church (today the old church ) was consecrated on October 22nd, 1912 .
In the referendum in Upper Silesia on the future political affiliation of Upper Silesia in 1921, 362 out of 647 voters voted for Poland, while 284 voted for Germany (56 against 20 in the manor district).
After the Polish annexation of East Upper Silesia in 1922, Ruptawa belonged to Poland. This was only interrupted by the occupation of Poland by the Wehrmacht in World War II .
In 1933, 29.7% of the population of Ruptawa were Protestant, one of the highest percentages in the former Silesian Voivodeship without the Olsa region .
The old Roman Catholic wooden church was transferred from Ruptawa to Kaczyce in 1971–1972 .
Ruptawa was incorporated into the city of Jastrzębie-Zdrój as sołectwo Ruptawa z Cisówką in 1975 .
