Rustam Tulqin o'gli To'laganov (* 8. October 1991 in Tashkent ) is an Uzbek professional boxer in light heavyweight . As an amateur, he won a bronze heavyweight medal at the 2016 Olympics .

Amateur career

To'laganov is around 1.86 m tall and has boxed in the elite class at international level since 2011. He won tournaments in Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Ukraine, Belarus and Bulgaria. He defeated, among others, Wang Xuanxuan , Darren O'Neill , Teymur Məmmədov , Heworh Manukjan and Ali Mazaheri .

At the Asian Championships in 2011 and the Asian Olympic qualification in 2012, he was eliminated in the first fight before he won the silver medal at the 2013 Summer Universiade . He got out in the final without a fight, previously he had beaten Abdulqədir Abdullayev , among others . At the 2013 World Championships he remained medalless after failing in the quarter-finals against Yevgeny Tishchenko . At the Asian Games in 2014 he lost to Anton Pinchuk.

At the Asian Championships in 2015 he won a silver medal again when he was eliminated in the final against Vasily Levit . He then took part in the 2015 World Championships and was eliminated again in the quarter-finals against Erislandy Savón .

With his victory at the Asian Olympic qualification tournament in China in 2016 , he received a starting place at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro . There he came against Julio Castillo (3: 0) and Abdulqədir Abdullayev (3: 0) in the semi-finals, where he was eliminated against Yevgeny Tishchenko (0: 3) and thus won a bronze medal.

Professional career

He made his professional debut on October 27, 2017.
