Ruth Hammerbacher

Ruth Hammerbacher (born January 17, 1953 in Berlin-Wannsee ) is a former German politician of the Greens .

After graduating from high school in 1971, Ruth Hammerbacher studied sociology , political science , psychology and law at the universities of Berlin , Bielefeld and Münster with a degree in sociology.

Ruth Hammerbacher came from the Social Democratic Party of Germany , which she joined in 1976, to the Greens in 1979. From 1981 to 1986 she was a council member and alderman for the city of Osnabrück . During the 11th electoral term , she was a member of the Lower Saxony state parliament from June 21, 1986 to March 17, 1989, and a parliamentary group spokesperson from 1986 to 1987. In 1989, together with Ralf Fücks and Verena Krieger, she was elected the party's federal executive spokeswoman, but only stayed in office until 1990.

Since then, the sociologist has been working as an independent consultant and moderator in project development .
