Gunda Röstel

Gunda Röstel (born January 13, 1962 in Hohenstein-Ernstthal ) is a German manager . From 1996 to March 2000 she was the spokeswoman for the federal board of Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen .

Life

Gunda Röstel comes from a Protestant family and has two siblings and two children. She lives with her husband in Flöha .

From 1981 to 1985 she studied special education at the University of Rostock and graduated as a qualified teacher. Then she was a teacher at a special school in Flöha. In the spring of 1989 she submitted an application to leave the country, whereupon she was dismissed from school. After the fall of the Wall , she was hired again and immediately appointed head of the school.

In autumn 1989 she co-founded the New Forum in her hometown; the following year she moved into the district council , to which she was a member until 1994. In 1991 she and others founded the Saxon state association of Bündnis 90 , of which she was a member from 1992 to 1994. In December 1996 she was elected spokeswoman for the federal executive committee of Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen. During their term of office, first Jürgen Trittin (until September 1998) and then Antje Radcke were equal colleagues in the function of the Board Spokesman. In March 2000 she announced her withdrawal from the executive committee after internal party differences over reform. Fritz Kuhn and Renate Künast were elected as successors to Röstel and Radcke at the party conference in June 2000 .

In October 2000, Röstel became manager for project development and corporate strategy at Gelsenwasser AG , at that time a subsidiary of E.ON , from 2003 owned by Dortmund and Bochumer Stadtwerke. Since July 2004 she has been the commercial director of Stadtentwässerung Dresden GmbH . She was elected to the EnBW supervisory board in April 2011 as the representative of the state of Baden-Württemberg .

Since 2018 she has been a member of the Federal Government's Commission on Growth, Structural Change and Employment , which deals with structural change in the German coal regions.

Röstel was a member of the Board of Trustees of the Technical University of Dresden from July 2005 to December 2008 , and since April 2010 she has been the Chair of the University Council . In 2014 she took 6th place at the Stardance Chemnitz competition with the dancer Philipp Jendras.
