Claudia Maicher (born June 22, 1978 in Erfurt ) is a German politician ( Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen ). From 2010 to 2014 she was state board spokeswoman for Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen in Saxony . Member of the Saxon State Parliament since 2014 , where she primarily deals with the subjects of universities, science, culture, media, network politics and Europe.

Life and work

Maicher studied sociology and economics at the University of Leipzig . She then worked as a research assistant at the Institute for Sociology at Leipzig University. She worked as coordinator for the European study exchange program ERASMUS at the Institute of Sociology. In February 2011 she completed her doctorate . The dissertation was titled Die Vorsorgegestalter. A sociological study of pension decisions with wide time horizons published.

Maicher lives in Leipzig, is married and has three children.

Maicher joined the Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen party in 2005. From 2008 to 2010 she was an assessor in the state board of Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen Sachsen . In the city council election in Leipzig in June 2009, she ran as a candidate in constituency 7, but missed the entry into the city council. In the state elections in August 2009 , she also missed entry into the state parliament, both on list position 13 and as a direct candidate in the Leipzig 2 constituency . Your first vote was 17%.

After the office of state spokeswoman remained vacant in January 2010 due to a lack of applicants, Maicher declared her candidacy for the office. At a state party conference on November 6, 2010, she was elected to office with 91 out of 96 votes and now formed the dual leadership of the state party together with Volkmar Zschocke . On March 3, 2012, she was confirmed in office with just over 80% approval, which she held until December 2014.

In the state elections in Saxony in 2014 , she managed to move into the Saxon state parliament at number 3 on the list . On September 16, 2014 she was elected by the parliamentary group of the Greens for one year as deputy group chairman for the 6th electoral term. Maicher is the parliamentary group spokesperson for universities, science, culture, media, internet politics and Europe. She is also a member of the corresponding state parliament committees. Since April 2016, she has been a member of the assembly of the Saxon State Agency for Private Broadcasting and New Media, delegated by the parliamentary group.

In December 2016 she was elected to the state party council of Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen at a state party conference. In 2018, she called for young people to experience GDR history again with up-to-date learning opportunities in authentic locations in Leipzig or Hoheneck, in order to use the SED millions to promote the memory of the injustice in the GDR.

In the state elections in Saxony in 2019 , she was elected constituency member in the Leipzig 4 constituency with 26.9 percent of the direct votes.
