The district of Flöha bordered clockwise in the north, beginning with the districts of Hainichen , Freiberg , Brand-Erbisdorf , Marienberg , Zschopau and Karl-Marx-Stadt-Land (until 1953 and from 1990 Chemnitz-Land) as well as the urban district of Karl-Marx-Stadt ( until 1953 and from 1990 Chemnitz ).

history

The Flöha district emerged from the Flöha district administration renamed the Flöha district on January 1, 1939 (formed on October 15, 1874). Between 1948 and 1952, the number of municipalities belonging to the district was reduced from 51 to 39 through amalgamations and amalgamations. With the district reform of the GDR on July 25, 1952, the districts were formed and the districts were reorganized. The previous district of Flöha gave almost a quarter of its communities to two newly created districts:

Bockendorf, Dittersbach, Eulendorf, the city of Frankenberg, Irbersdorf, Langenstriegis, Merzdorf, Riechberg and Sachsenburg.

  • The "old district" Flöha kept 37 of its 53 communities:

Oederan, Borstendorf, Braunsdorf, Breitenau, Dittmannsdorf, Eppendorf, Erdmannsdorf, Falkenau, Flöha, Frankenstein, Gahlenz, Görbersdorf, Grünberg, Grünhainichen, Großwaltersdorf, Gunnersdorf, Hartha, Hausdorf, Hennersdorf, Hohenfichte, Kirchbach, Leubsdorf, Lichtenwalde, Marbach, Memmendorf, Mühlbach, Niederlichtenau, Niederwiesa, Oederan, Plaue, Schellenberg, Schönerstadt, Waldkirchen, Wingendorf and Witzschdorf.

The newly formed Flöha district thus comprised 39 communities. Due to changes in the municipal area and reclassifications, the number of municipalities steadily decreased and was 20 when the district was dissolved:

On May 17, 1990, the Flöha district was renamed the Flöha district. It existed until the first Saxon district reform , which came into force on August 1, 1994. It was merged with the Freiberg district (12 communities) and the Brand-Erbisdorf district (10 communities) to form the new Freiberg district (with 39 communities).

traffic

The circle was Floeha by two highways , today's federal highways 173 and 180 , opened up off the street. On the rail side, the Dresden – Werdau line and the Flöha-Neuhausen line branching off from it were used for passenger and freight traffic.

License Plate

Motor vehicles (with the exception of motorcycles) and trailers were assigned three-letter distinctive signs starting with the letter pairs TE and XE from around 1974 to the end of 1990 . The last number plate series used for motorcycles was XG 40-01 to XG 70-00 .

At the beginning of 1991 the district received the distinctive sign FLÖ . It was issued until July 31, 1994. It has been available in the Central Saxony district since November 9, 2012 .
