Ruth McDevitt

Ruth Thane McDevitt (born September 13, 1895 in Coldwater , Michigan , † May 27, 1976 in Hollywood , Los Angeles , California ) was an American actress .

Life

Ruth McDevitt was born as Ruth Thane Shoecraft . She studied acting at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts . She then married Patrick McDevitt and gave up her acting ambitions in favor of her marriage. When he died in 1934, however, she began to play again. From the early 1950s she began to establish herself on television as a supporting actress. She later starred in films such as The Marriage of Her Parents Announce , The Birds and The Evil Road .
