Ruth Tauchert

Ruth Tauchert (* 1963 in Cologne ) is a German artist who lives and works in Bonn . After her training as a goldsmith , she studied sculpture at the Alanus University for Art and Society in Alfter from 1993 to 1995 .

Career

Tauchert has been a freelance artist since 1996 and has been exhibiting continuously in group and solo exhibitions since 1997. She is a member of GEDOK Bonn and the Federal Association of Visual Artists (BBK) Cologne. In 2019, Tauchert was awarded the Dr. Theobald Simon Prize of GEDOK Bonn for outstanding achievements in the visual arts . As a sculptor, she primarily creates figurative sculptures out of bronze , often orienting herself on models from antiquity , which she transfers to the present in her reinterpretation . The artist has always paid particular attention to the subject of movement.
