history
The municipality of Seifen is an old mining town of the Schwarzenberg rulership , which was founded around 1530 and whose name comes from Zinnseifnen . After the Schmalkaldic War , the place in the mountain district of Gottesgab came to Bohemia in 1546 .
The place was parish until 1786 after Gottesgab and afterwards got its own parish office. Between 1805 and 1807 the Seifener Wenceslas Church ( Kostel Sv. Václava ) was built under the direction of Florian Fischer and Johann Bleier from Sankt Joachimsthal . In 1847 Seifen had 60 houses with 622 inhabitants, 1 pub, 1 school under the patronage of the Religion Fund, 1 tavern and 1 mill. A state lace school was located in Seifen since 1869.
In 1938, Soap had a population of 407, of whom 400 were Catholic. After the Second World War , the German residents were expelled and the place fell into disrepair. 90 percent of the houses were demolished and Ryžovna was incorporated into Boží Dar in 1955 . The old school has been reconstructed. In 1991 the place had two residents. In 2001 the village consisted of two houses, but had no permanent residents.
A storm on July 29, 2005 caused several storm damage. The tornado knocked down numerous trees, especially on Wagnerberg and in the direction of Försterhäuser. The roof of an old farmhouse on the road towards Potůčky collapsed and had to be removed.
