Rzeczyca ( Knakendorf ) is a village in the Polish West Pomeranian Voivodeship . He is assigned to the urban and rural municipality Tuczno ( municipality Tütz ) in Powiat Wałecki ( Deutsch Krone district) .

history

In 1337 the place was called Knokendorp , in the 17th century Knakendorp . Knakendorf belonged to a noble rule and was a West Prussian estate in the 18th century, which came back to Prussia after the first Polish partition in 1772 . Around 1789 the manor village, in which there was a Catholic church, was owned by the starost Leo Moszczeński, who was also the landlord of the town of Tütz and five other villages, including Marthe ( Martew ), Mehlgast ( Miłogoszcz ) and Schulzendorf ( Jeziorki ) found. At the beginning of the 19th century, the Knakendorf estate was estimated to be worth around one hundred thousand Reichstaler .

The place belonged to the district Deutsch Krone in the German Empire until 1945 . After the First World War , the district was assigned to the province of Grenzmark Posen-West Prussia until 1939 , and then to the province of Pomerania .

Towards the end of the Second World War , the Red Army occupied the region in the spring of 1945 . Soon afterwards Knakendorf was placed under Polish administration. Subsequently, the villagers were evicted by the local Polish administration and replaced by Poles. The German town of Runkendorf was renamed Rzeczyca .
