The Dai 1 was a motorized railcar of the Royal Saxon State Railways .

history

The two-axle wagon was built by the Werdau wagon factory and sold to the Kgl. Saxon. State railways delivered. However, nothing is known about the planned use of the car.

technical features

The engine supplied by Austro-Daimler in Wiener Neustadt was arranged in the middle of the passenger compartment and transferred its power to an axle via a mechanical transmission. The engine was started with gasoline , while in operation, alcohol was used as fuel. Because of the low engine power, the vehicle was intended for operation without a sidecar.

The waste heat from the cooling water and the exhaust gases, which were conducted in pipes through the passenger compartment, were used for heating. Oil lamps were used for lighting.
