List of the Deutsche Bahn locomotive and multiple unit series
The list of locomotive and railcar series of Deutsche Bahn AG provides an overview of the locomotive - and railcars - series of DB Regio , the DB long-distance transport and the DB Cargo Germany and the Deutsche Bahn AG itself therefore contains only. Vehicles that after Establishment of the Deutsche Bahn AG on January 1st, 1994 were still in use.
The series are in accordance with the series scheme of the German Federal Railroad numbered, which was acquired by Deutsche Bahn AG 1994th
According to § 5 para. 1e and § 25a of the General Railway Act (AEG) and its underlying policies of the European Community which is the Federal Railway Authority from 1 January 2007, responsible for managing the national Fahrzeugeinstellregisters. On the basis of the binding UIC series scheme for traction vehicles , the series numbers are assigned to railway vehicles set up in Germany . An overview of these series numbers can be found under the list of series in the German vehicle settings register . However, the series numbers of Deutsche Bahn AG still apply to internal administration.
Legend
In the case of steam locomotives, the number of the remaining locomotives is given in column No.
For all other vehicles, the series is specified in the BR column . It is in brackets (...) when the series is no longer in operation at DB AG (with the exception of the DB Museum). Details are then in the Comments column. Some series are marked with an *. They were usually only rented for a “short time” and still wrote down the series of their previous owner on the locomotive. The number given in the Series column is only used internally here.
In the Name column , the most popular nicknames or manufacturer names of the locomotives are shown in italics . If the locomotives were already under a predecessor of DB AG: Deutsche Bundesbahn ( DB series ), Deutsche Reichsbahn in the GDR ( DR series ) or Deutsche Reichsbahn (1920–1945) ( DR series ) or at DB AG itself under one Another number ran, the number and the company name in the form "ex DB 103" are also noted in this column.
In the column Antr. the drive system is broken down further:
- Steam locomotives can be fired with coal ( DKo ) or oil ( DÖl ).
- In the case of electric locomotives and electric railcars , only series connection ( elR ) or three-phase current ( elD ) drive technology is used.
- Diesel locomotives and diesel multiple units can use diesel-electric ( de ) or hydraulic ( dh ) or diesel-mechanical ( dm ) power transmission. Some older locomotives have a manual gearbox ( Dsg ).
- The list also includes an accumulator railcar, a battery locomotive (both Akk ) and a natural gas locomotive ( Erd ).
In the column v max the permissible maximum speed is given in km / h , with steam locomotives partly differentiated for forward and reverse travel.
Electric locomotives that have multiple traction current systems entered in the Power System column are multi-system locomotives . In Germany in 1995 the frequency of modern traction current converters was changed from 16 ⅔ Hz ~ to 16.7 Hz ~ for technical reasons. Newer locomotives are therefore designed for this frequency, older ones for the old frequency. However, this is not a restriction on the usability of the locomotives, as both frequencies are within the tolerance range of the other frequency.
Steam locomotives
By Deutsche Bahn AG were still different, the operating service attributable to normal - and narrow gauge - steam locomotives taken that to 2004 on municipal transport authorities, heritage railways or to the DB Museum yet.
