The list of locomotives and railcars of the Danske Statsbaner ( German  Danish State Railways ) contains a summaries of vehicles that were delivered to the DSB or used there.

Explanations

  • Series: Letter symbols for the locomotive series (shunting tractors do not have a letter symbol). For steam locomotives whose series designation consists of two letters, means
  • Roman numerals: refers to two or more different series of locomotives with the same series designation.
  • Commissioning: Year of commissioning by the original owner.
  • Retirement: year of retirement at DSB. Some locomotives were no longer in active service long before they were retired. Steam operation ended at DSB in 1970, but a small number of steam locomotives remained as reserve locomotives for several years.
  • Former owners / earlier series: For steam locomotives that have been taken over by other companies, former owners and former series designation
  • Preserved locomotives: Locomotives that have been preserved in museums, at railway associations or from private individuals, with details of the owner
  • Comments: Conversions, redesigns, purchase or sale with details of the railway company
