Sébastien Amiez (born May 6, 1972 in Pralognan-la-Vanoise ) is a former French ski racer who specialized in slalom .
biography
At the 1997 World Ski Championships in Sestriere , he finished second in slalom behind Norwegian Tom Stiansen . He also won a silver medal at the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City , behind Jean-Pierre Vidal .
In the Ski World Cup he won a race, the slalom in Veysonnaz on January 21, 1996. In the same season he reached three more podium places, which was enough for him to win the Slalom World Cup. In 1997, 1998 and 2001 another six podium places followed. He was also French slalom champion in 1994, 1996, 1999 and 2004 . In April 2007 he announced his retirement from ski racing.
