Sérgio de Deus Borges
Sérgio de Deus Borges (born September 4, 1966 in Alfredo Wagner , Santa Catarina , Brazil ) is a Brazilian clergyman and Roman Catholic bishop of Foz do Iguaçu .
Life
Sérgio de Deus Borges received the sacrament of ordination for the diocese of Cornélio Procópio on February 6, 1993 .
On June 27, 2012, Pope Benedict XVI appointed him . the titular bishop of Gergis and ordered him to auxiliary bishop in Sao Paulo . The bishop of Cornélio Procópio, Getúlio Teixeira Guimarães SVD , donated him episcopal ordination on August 18 of the same year ; Co- consecrators were the Archbishop of São Paulo, Cardinal Odilo Pedro Scherer , and the auxiliary bishop of São Paulo, Edmar Peron . Pope Francis appointed him also on May 23, 2018 up to September 22, 2019 ending Sedisvakanz the Apostolic Administrator of the Melkite Eparchy of Nossa Senhora do Paraíso em São Paulo .
On July 17, 2019, Francis appointed him Bishop of Foz do Iguaçu. The inauguration took place on September 7, 2019.
