The Southern Lacló , also Lacló ( tetum Lacló , Portuguese Ribeira de Lacló do Sul or Rio Lacló do Sul ), is the largest river in the East Timorese municipality of Manufahi .

course

It rises in the central mountains of Timor in the administrative office Turiscai , crosses the north of Fatuberlio and crosses the plains of Alas before reaching the Timor Sea . The Lacló forms the natural border between different sucos , for example in the Fatuberlio administrative office between Bubussuso and Caicassa . In the administrative office of Alas it follows the entire western border of Dotik , on the other side of which from north to south lie the sucos Aituha , Taitudac , Maha-Quidan and Uma Berloic . At the meeting point of Dotik, Taitudac and Maha-Quidan, where the Rio Marak coming from Aituha flows into the Lacló on the right , the river expands to a large lake with several islands. Shortly before it flows into the Timor Sea, a tributary of the Clerec meets the Lacló.

bridges

Coming from Uma Berloic, the southern coastal road crosses the Lacló with a bridge in the direction of Dotik.

Others

The Lacló is one of several rivers in the south of the country that carries water in the rainy and dry seasons. It regularly causes flooding in its estuary, where there are a large number of lagoons.

There is no direct connection to Northern Lacló , which joins the Wetar Strait on the north coast of the island .
