South Tyrol Pass
The Südtirol Pass is a chip card that serves as an electronic ticket for the means of transport affiliated with the Verkehrsverbund Südtirol . These include all public bus, train and cable car offers in local and regional transport in the autonomous Italian province of South Tyrol . The Südtirol Pass is valid on all public transport that is part of the South Tyrolean Transport Association. These include:
- all urban bus lines of the SASA ,
- all regional bus lines of SAD and LiBUS
- all regional trains ( R and RV ) operated by SAD and Trenitalia (but not valid on long-distance trains ),
- two smaller rail-bound means of transport, namely the Rittner Bahn and the Mendelbahn ,
- a number of cable cars , namely, the cableway Jenesien that Kohlerer web , the Meransner web , the cableway Mölten that Rittner cableway and the cable car Vöran .
On the railway lines, the South Tyrol Pass is valid on the Brennerbahn between the Brenner and Trento stations , on the entire Pustertalbahn , the Bolzano – Merano railway and the Vinschgau Railway . The Südtirol Pass works contactless , i.e. by holding the chip card near a validator . The corresponding validators are located in the vehicles of buses and in the stations of all railways and cable cars.
A single validation is sufficient for city buses, cable cars, the Mendel and Renon railways, as a single tariff is charged for the entire journey. A single validation is also sufficient for regional trains, but the desired end station must be entered using a numerical code before starting the journey. In the case of regional buses, you have to validate both at the start and at the end of the journey so that the exact distance traveled can be booked.
Tariffs / prices
The prices of the Südtirol Pass and the EuregioFamilyPass South Tyrol are graded according to kilometers, whereby the kilometer tariff of the EuregioFamilyPass Südtirol is cheaper. The thresholds are 1,000, 2,000, 10,000 and 20,000 kilometers. With every threshold that is reached within a year, the kilometer tariff becomes cheaper. From 20,000 kilometers, the journeys are free. You can pay by direct debit or a rechargeable online account.
The Südtirol Pass abo + and the Südtirol Pass 65+ have fixed prices. The Südtirol Pass abo + costs 20 euros a year for schoolchildren and 150 euros for students. The Südtirol Pass 65+ costs 20 to 150 euros per year, depending on age.
variants
The Südtirol Pass, for which you need an Italian tax number, is available in five versions:
- Südtirol Pass - can be applied for by anyone residing in an EU country or in Switzerland.
- Südtirol Pass abo + - can be applied for by anyone who is 26 years old on December 31st and attends a school / university in South Tyrol or is doing basic training in the social sector. The place of residence can be in South Tyrol or outside of South Tyrol.
- Südtirol Pass 65+ - can be applied for by anyone who is 65 years of age or older and has Italian citizenship. The place of residence can be in South Tyrol or abroad, but in the latter case there must be an entry in a South Tyrolean municipality in the AIRE register.
- Südtirol Pass free - can be applied for by anyone residing in South Tyrol who is deaf or who has a civil disability of at least 74% or who cannot carry out the validation process himself due to a permanent physical impairment.
- EuregioFamilyPass South Tyrol - can be applied for by all families living in South Tyrol who have at least one underage child. The EuregioFamilyPass is also a discount in various South Tyrolean leisure facilities.
