from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The administrative district of Südwürttemberg-Hohenzollern was an administrative district in Baden-Württemberg that existed from 1952 to 1972 and was transferred to today's administrative district of Tübingen from January 1, 1973 with a different boundary .

history

The administrative district of Südwürttemberg-Hohenzollern was established with the formation of the state of Baden-Württemberg in 1952 as one of four administrative districts, the others were the administrative district of North Württemberg , the administrative district of North Baden and the administrative district of South Baden . The administrative district of Südwürttemberg-Hohenzollern comprised the former state of Württemberg-Hohenzollern established in 1945/46 by the French military government with Tübingen as its capital. The responsible regional council was therefore also set up in Tübingen.

With the district reform , which was implemented on January 1, 1973, the boundaries of the administrative district changed very much. The regional council in Tübingen was then also responsible for areas that used to be Baden. In return, areas were transferred to the jurisdiction of the regional councils of Freiburg and Karlsruhe.

Therefore, the name of the administrative district of Südwürttemberg-Hohenzollern was changed to the administrative district of Tübingen.
