Süleyman Çelikyurt (born July 27, 1989 in Osterode am Harz ) is a German - Turkish soccer player .

Youth at VfL Wolfsburg

Çelikyurt learned to play football in the youth departments of various amateur clubs in his hometown Osterode . For the 2005/06 season he moved to the youth department of VfL Wolfsburg . Here he was in his first year with the U-17 of VfL Wolfsburg master of the U-17 Bundesliga North Season . In the quarter-finals of the German U-17 championship they lost to the later champions TSV 1860 Munich , who u. a. Timo Gebhart and the twin brothers Sven Bender and Lars Bender had in their ranks, with 0: 1.

In the second year Çelikyurt was with the U-19 runner-up in the U-19 Bundesliga North Season and in the same season reached the final of the DFB Junior Club Cup in Berlin, where he again met TSV 1860 Munich. The game was lost by a goal in stoppage time with 1: 2.

In his last junior year he was champion of the U-19 Bundesliga North Season. In the final of the German U-19 championship they lost against SC Freiburg 2-0. So Çelikyurt became German U-19 junior runner-up with VfL Wolfsburg.

The first professional years

After the end of his youth, Çelikyurt was included in the second team of VfL Wolfsburg in 2008 , which was then playing in the fourth-class regional league . After one season in the second teams from Wolfsburg and Hannover 96 , he was associated with RW Essen . The move failed because RW Essen filed for bankruptcy in 2010. Çelikyurt was signed by the second team of Eintracht Braunschweig , where he spent a season.

In 2011 he moved to the regional division SV Wilhelmshaven . Shortly before moving to SV Wilhelmshaven, he trained with the Turkish first division club Kayserispor in a Dutch training camp and even played two friendly matches against AZ Alkmaar and Getafe FC . The move to Kayserispor did not materialize, however, so Çelikyurt moved to SV Wilhelmshaven.

Change to Turkey

For summer 2012, Çelikyurt had several offers from Turkey . First Çelikyurt's move to the Turkish second division club Çaykur Rizespor was announced. When this change did not materialize, the league competitor Denizlispor signed him .

At Denizlispor he was a crowd favorite, as he often attracted attention for his fighting spirit and his speed. After the 2013/14 season and 46 league games (two goals), he left the club because it was in financial difficulties and could not pay players' salaries.

For the 2014/15 season he moved within the TFF 1st Lig to Manisaspor . For the next second half of the season he moved on to third division Gümüşhanespor .

National team

In the 2005/06 season he took part in several courses of the DFB national youth team. In October 2005 he was used twice in the European Championship qualification of the German U-17 national team .

Furthermore, Çelikyurt played twice for the Turkish U-20 national team in 2008.
