Timo Gebhart (born April 12, 1989 in Memmingen ) is a German soccer player .
Club career
youth
At the age of four he was on the pitch at BSC Memmingen and trained with the older ones, as there was no Bambini team there at that time. He did not participate in the game and joined the club in August 1994. In his youth he played for BSC Memmingen, then moved to local rivals FC Memmingen and was signed by TSV 1860 Munich in 2004 . Gebhart was German champion in the 2005/06 season with the U17 of TSV 1860 Munich.
TSV 1860 Munich
In the 2006/07 season, the midfielder was nominally part of the A youth squad of the "Löwen" and made four appearances in the second team in the Regionalliga Süd. For the 2007/08 season he was appointed to the professional squad, in which he made his debut in professional football in the 2nd Bundesliga on August 26, 2007 at the away game in Hoffenheim . In November 2007, Gebhart's contract term was extended to 2010. In 37 games for 1860 Munich he scored five goals and prepared five more.
VfB Stuttgart
On December 30, 2008 Gebhart signed a contract with VfB Stuttgart dated until June 2013 , which came into force on January 1, 2009. He made his first game for VfB Stuttgart on February 26, 2009 in the UEFA Cup against Zenit St. Petersburg , when he came on for Roberto Hilbert in the second half and scored his first goal a little later. Gebhart played his first Bundesliga game for VfB on March 1, 2009 against Karlsruher SC . On the 18th matchday of the 2009/10 season he scored his first Bundesliga goal for VfB.
1. FC Nuremberg
For the 2012/13 season Timo Gebhart moved to 1. FC Nürnberg . He signed a four-year contract.
Steaua Bucharest
On January 30, 2016, Gebhart signed a contract with the Romanian club Steaua Bucharest for a period of six months with an option for two more years.
Hansa Rostock
After Gebhart's expiring contract with Steaua Bucharest was not extended, and he was therefore without a club since July 2016, FC Hansa Rostock secured his services. He received a one-year contract on August 19, 2016. On August 27, 2016 Gebhart got his first opportunity to prove himself for Hansa Rostock. From the 55th minute (5th matchday) he was on the field for Hansa (against FSV Frankfurt ) for the first time and set the first accents and exclamation marks. His first goal for the "Kogge" he scored on matchday 7 with a penalty in the 56th minute against Lotte . After a season in Rostock with a total of 21 competitive appearances and a total of six goals for Hansa, Gebhart could no longer agree with the club management on a contract extension.
Return to TSV 1860 Munich
For the 2017/18 season Gebhart returned to TSV 1860 Munich , who, after being relegated from the 2nd Bundesliga, played in the Regionalliga Bayern for financial reasons . After he was able to set some accents in the team game at the beginning of the season, a torn muscle bundle in his left thigh threw him back in early autumn. During the winter break, with financial support from the investor Hasan Ismaik , he and his physiotherapist completed some rehabilitation measures in Dubai . Gebhart and Ismaik met there personally. Nevertheless, Gebhart, again thrown back from further injuries, did not make any further appearances in the second half of the season, whereupon the sporting management of TSV 1860 Munich refrained from extending the contract.
Viktoria Berlin
In February 2019, Gebhart, without a club, moved to the regional league for FC Viktoria 1889 Berlin , for which he played fourteen times in the league and in the state cup.
For the third time in 1860
The midfielder moved to the Lions for the third time in the summer of 2019, and his contract is valid until June 2020.
National team
Gebhart already played for the German U15 in 2005 and took part with the German U17 national team in the 2006 European Championship in Luxembourg , where they finished fourth. In 2008 he was in the German squad of the U19 European Championship in the Czech Republic , where the team managed to win the title. He finally made his debut for the German U21s in September 2009 in a 6-0 win against San Marino in qualifying for the 2011 European Championship . He was sent off with a yellow-red card in the 52nd minute when the score was 5-0 .
