Slowinski National Park
The Slowinzische National Park (Polish: Słowiński Park Narodowy ) is located in Pomerania on the Baltic coast - the "Baltic Sea" (Morze Bałtyckie) - between the places Lębork ( Lauenburg ) and Słupsk ( Stolp ) in the Polish Pomeranian Voivodeship . The stretch of land (550 hectares) summarizes some typical natural habitats: wide stretches of coastline, mighty shifting dunes (Łącka Góra 42 m high) on a spit, quiet riverside areas and the largest coastal lake west of Gdansk. An approx. 35 km long long-distance hiking trail runs between the coastal towns of Ustka ( Stolpmünde ) and Łeba ( Leba ).
The name of the park refers to the people of the Slowinzen who originally lived on the edge of Lake Leba .
