Lists on the subject

The SIG Sauer P230 is a small, semi-automatic pistol .

technology

The P230 has a simple ground lock and a release lever on the upper edge of the left handle. In terms of its dimensions and structure, it is therefore very similar to the Walther PP . The weapon is quite flat, the cock only protrudes a little. It can thus be guided well concealed.

In 1996 the P230 was replaced by the P232 model, it now has an automatic firing pin safety.

The import of the SIG Sauer P232 into the USA as well as of spare parts and magazines was discontinued in July 2014. Although the P230 and P232 models are known for their reliability and accuracy, competition in the market had increased with the proliferation of smaller, lighter vehicles and cheaper pistols for the .380 ACP cartridge. The P232 and other German-made SIG Sauer products have been banned from export by the German government because the US State Department illegally sold weapons to the Colombian Department of Defense.
