SN Brussels Airlines was a Belgian airline based in Brussels . It went on after the merger with the Belgian airline Virgin Express in the newly created Brussels Airlines .

history

SN Brussels Airlines emerged from the insolvent Belgian airline Sabena in February 2002 . Its subsidiary Delta Air Transport (DAT) was separated from the group and took over flight operations under the new name. Initially, SN Brussels Airlines only flew to European cities from its home airport in Brussels. In cooperation with Birdy Airlines , from April 26, 2002, African cities were also integrated into the route network. The company took over Birdy Airlines in 2004. In 2005 the company carried 3.25 million passengers, the average occupancy was 62.8%.

In November 2006, SN Brussels Airlines and Virgin Express merged to form Brussels Airlines . The new name, the new company logo (a red b stylized with a runway lighting) and a new paint scheme were presented on November 5, 2006. The start of flight operations under the name Brussels Airlines took place in March 2007

Destinations

In addition to several European destinations, 14 destinations in Africa and two destinations in Arabia were served . An agreement with American Airlines also offered 34 destinations in North America . Similar agreements also existed with Etihad Airways and El-Al, among others . In the German-speaking area, SN Brussels Airlines served Berlin , Hamburg , Frankfurt , Munich and Vienna .
