The Saarhölzbachtal - Zunkelsbruch nature reserve is located in the area of ​​the municipalities of Mettlach and Losheim am See in the Merzig-Wadern district in Saarland .

The area, which consists of two sub-areas, extends east of Saarhölzbach , a district of the municipality of Mettlach , along the Saarhölzbach , a right tributary of the Saar . The state road L 158 runs to the south, the B 51 runs to the west and flows the Saar. The state border with Rhineland-Palatinate runs north .
