Sabine Deitmer

Sabine Deitmer (born October 21, 1947 in Jena , Thuringia , † January 11, 2020 in Dortmund ) was a German writer who was best known for her detective novels and stories.

Life

Growing up in Düsseldorf , Sabine Deitmer studied English , Romance studies and literature in Bonn and Konstanz . She wrote her master's thesis on the reception of detective novels using Agatha Christie as an example . She lived temporarily in Brighton , Bristol , on Lake Constance and in Berlin before moving to the Ruhr area in 1978 . For many years she worked in educational adult education . Since 1990 she has lived as a freelance writer in Dortmund, where she died in January 2020 at the age of 72.

Your first texts she published together with other women within the women's movement in self-publishing . In 1988 she achieved remarkable sales success with the crime story volume “Bye, Bye Bruno” . After that, she continued to distinguish herself as a successful crime writer with numerous works. Her crime novels have been translated into several languages, edited for radio and filmed.

For many years she was a member of the board of directors of the Fritz Hüser Society.
