Sabine Graf (* 1965 in Salzgitter ) is a German historian , archivist and director of the Lower Saxony State Archives .

Life

Sabine Graf studied Medieval and Modern History , Philosophy , Historical Auxiliary Sciences and Art History in Braunschweig at the Technical University there and in Göttingen at the Georg-August University , where she did her doctorate in 1996 with Wolfgang Petke on the subject of the Lower Church System of the Imperial City of Goslar in the Middle Ages .

In 1997 Graf did her archive clerkship in Lower Saxony. From 1999 to 2003 she worked as archivist and consultant at the Lower Saxony State Archives (NLA) in Stade .

In 2003 Sabine Graf moved to Hanover as an archivist at the Lower Saxony State Archives, where she initially took over the management of the NLA location in 2014 and on September 28, 2015. On August 29, 2018, she was appointed President of the Lower Saxony State Archives.

Sabine Graf is chairwoman of the historical association for Lower Saxony .
