Sabine Urban (born December 2, 1976 in Gera , Gera district ) is a German actress .

Life

Sabine Urban grew up in Gera, the town of her birth, where she graduated from high school in 1995 at the "Karl-Theodor-Liebe-Gymnasium". Even when she was still at school, she performed in smaller roles on the stages of the city of Gera . From 1995 to 1999 she completed her acting training at the University of Film and Television “Konrad Wolf” in Potsdam / Babelsberg .

After completing her acting diploma, Sabine Urban began her beginners' engagement at the Landestheater Detmold in 1999 , to which she was a permanent member of the ensemble until the end of the 2001/02 season. She played in the three-branch theater in drama (classical and modern repertoire) and in musicals . One of her first roles there was Solveig in Ibsen's piece Peer Gynt . In 2001 she performed at the Landestheater Detmold a. a. as Danton's wife Julie in Danton's death , as Ottilie in Die Wahlverwand occasions , as Viola in Was ihr wollt and the following year as Raina in Helden . She also sang and played the title role in the musical Sweet Charity (1999/2000 season).

She then took on guest engagements as an actress on various stages. She has made guest appearances at the Anhaltisches Theater Dessau (2002), the Staatstheater Oldenburg (2003), the Theater am Kurfürstendamm (from 2005), the Schlosstheater Celle (2008), the Theater Bremen (from 2008), the comedy Winterhuder Fährhaus , am South Thuringian State Theater Meiningen (2010) and on tour. She was seen both in classic acting roles and in the musical repertoire. In 2011 she appeared at the Grenzlandtheater Aachen as the “quick-witted” Evelyn in Nick Walsh's comedy Enough is not enough .

Urban also stood in front of the camera for film and television. She was in some TV series like Wolffs Revier , Alphateam - Die Lebensretter im OP , Die Pfefferkörner and Unter Gaunern . In the Bremen crime scene: In the blind spot (first broadcast: March 2018), she had a brief appearance as a hospital doctor.

Sabine Urban also appeared in Radio Bremen radio plays. She read audio books and worked as a speaker for various advertising, over-voice and dubbing productions. In addition, Sabine Urban is on stage as an entertainer with her own literary and musical programs (including texts by Erich Kästner and Mascha Kaléko ). With the musical play Lale-Lili-Marleen about the life of the singer Lale Andersen by Dirk Böhling , Urban premiered at the “piccolo teatro haventheater” in Bremerhaven in 2017; in this production she will also appear there in the 2018/19 season.

In 2005 she also works as a coach and developed a. a. Seminars for breathing and speech technology. At the Hochschule für Musik Detmold she has been teaching "stage presence" and "rhetoric" in the master's program "music education / music management" since 2015.

She is an ambassador for the “Bremer Leselust” initiative. Sabine Urban lives in Bremen , is married and has one child. She is a member of the Federal Drama Association (BFFS).
