Saint-Julien-de-Raz is a former French commune least 429 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2013) in the department of Isère in the region Auvergne Rhône-Alpes . It was part of the arrondissement of Grenoble and the canton of Voiron .
With effect from January 1, 2017, the former municipalities of Pommiers-la-Placette and Saint-Julien-de-Raz were merged to form Commune nouvelle La Sure en Chartreuse .

Saint-Julien-de-Raz is about 18 kilometers north-northwest of Grenoble . Saint-Julien-de-Raz is surrounded by the neighboring towns of Saint-Étienne-de-Crossey in the north, Saint-Joseph-de-Rivière in the east, Pommiers-la-Placette in the south, La Buisse in the southwest and Coublevie in the west.
